الملخص الإنجليزي

Organizations have witnessed many successive developments and challenges in several areas, which necessitate the need to make radical and accelerated transformations and changes to their methods of work and management in order to improve the decisions taken by relying on assistive technology, which contributes to raising the level of organizational performance and improving its quality and achieving the advantage over competitors.

Problem Statement: The aim of this research is an endeavor to examine the relationship between Decision Support Systems (DSS) and Decision-Making Process at PetroChina Company in Misan governorate.

Approach: The researchers adopted the descriptive analytical approach to analyze the information collected by means of a questionnaire to collect information and statistical methods to deal with field data represented by the (SPSS) program.

A total of 150 questionnaires was distributed and a high rate of return (87.6% ) has been achieved.

After initial data screening, 115 responses were utilized to analysis the final data.

Results: The correlation coefficient test showed that there is an effect of decision support systems in improving the decision-making process.

Conclusion/Recommendations: Findings of this study are useful for the top management in the Iraqi industrial sector to improve the decision-making process through the use of DSS.
