The continuation of the made-up conflict over the Moroccan Sahara is only a reflection of the complex nature of this regional dossier.

Moreover, it shows that Morocco holds a historic and legitimate right to stand firm for its Sahara, while Algeria is the incubator of the separatist Polyzario front.

As it shows a multiplicity of actors on the one hand and a conflict of interests on the other hand.

Nonetheless, the conflict is built, internally, upon the emotional policy Morocco adopts in dealing with Algeria plus some technical inaccuracies upon the diplomatic and administrative levels.

While externally, Algeria and its tendency towards the policy of exporting internal crises fueled by the historical hostility to Morocco, which has deepened as a result of the succession of the same generation of politicians and military leaders in power.

Additionally, there are many other crucial reasons related to the international powers presented in the United States of America, France and Spain.

The latter paradoxically still looks at the Kingdom of Morocco through a colonial scope and as a danger that threatens its existence on the European soil, hence, should be curbed and restrained.

Whilst France and due to its colonial past in the Maghreb in particular and Africa in general, sees no embarrassment in employing the doctrine of containment based on a superior view that does not take into consideration regional and international changes.

Therefore, the above-mentioned was the specific reason for reaching out to the United States of America and making it part of the whole game in order to involve everyone in its new security policies through the redistribution of roles.

These all are strategic determinants that urged the Kingdom of Morocco to insist on its partners to adopt the Moroccan view for giving the southern provinces autonomy under the Moroccan sovereignty as the only solution through which all rights and interests would be reserved.
