This study discusses the challenges of establishing democracy, the2021 elections’ repercussion on the Moroccan political scene.

the study argues that the elections have a marginal impact on the system of power, since the process of democratic transition in morocco takes place under the umbrella term of "reform under stability".

the so-called " reform and stability" startegy has witnessed several tensions, somethimg that reflects the power structures, which combine the traditional form of power (tradional elites) and the discourse expressed through elections.

moreover, the study provides an analyses of 2021 elections, the reasons for the decline of the justice and development party, the rise of political parties known for their closeness to the palace.
