This study examines Iran's Afghanistan policy in the period following the us withdrawal from the region, the study then discusses how Iran reacted and adjusted its position after the Taliban's takeover in the region to a large extent.

additionally, the study discusses the facors that shaped Iran's Afghanistan policy, in doing so the study analyses the possible effects of these factors, possible foreign policy changes in the short and long term.

the study argues that ideological determinants such as the protection of Shiites living in the region as well as real-political interests play a role in shaping Iran's approach to the Afghanistan crisis.
