The paper aimed to study the implementation of the functions of political parties in the African party, and the problem of the paper was the role of African political parties in national representation, nation building and political society, and their contribution to institutional party activity, And its support for consolidating the rules of dialogue and the democratic process in governance, and I assumed that the reality of democratic political life is what links voters with relations with the governing body and facilitates the process of follow-up and monitoring and the conduct of the political process by standing on the essential role of African political parties on the societies concerned.

The paper relied on the analytical, descriptive and historical method.

The paper reached a number of results, the most prominent of which is that the one-party state in Africa constituted a clear manifestation of the political scene, as it was a focus for weakening the role of partisanship in shaping political life in it, as political leaders played a major role in political authoritarianism through their political thought, In addition to the failure of the multiparty system to achieve justice, equality and democracy, it did not work to spread the culture of democratic dialogue and consolidate the rules of the democratic process in governance, and it did not actively participate in the mass mobilization and training of political cadres and party organization that leads the country to rational competition between governments and the opposition in the wise democratic concept.

As a result of not having a clear systematic plan for governance, or an intellectual content applied to reality related to defending rights and freedoms, human dignity, social justice or national unity.
