الملخص الإنجليزي

This study aimed at identifying the degree to which academic leaders in Palestinian universities practice excellence management, and its relationship to the organizational climate.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive approach.

The actual study sample consisted of (198) faculty members, or approximately (25.71%) of the total study population whose number was (770) faculty members, which were selected by stratified random sampling method.

The study used two questionnaires; the first was to measure the excellence management, and consisted of (47) paragraphs divided into six domains.

The second questionnaire was to measure the level of the organizational climate and consisted of (29) paragraphs distributed over five domains.

For data analysis, the SPSS statistical analysis program was used.

The most important findings of the study : 1- The degree to which academic leaders’ practice excellence management in Palestinian universities was high with a relative weight of (71.20%).

2- There were no statistically significant differences in the degree to which academic leaders in Palestinian universities practice excellence management attributable to the variable of the educational institution, with the exception of the field of ‘leadership with creativity’ and the field of ‘focus on students and scientific research’ where differences were in favor of the Islamic University Gaza.

There were no differences attributed to the study variables: academic grade, faculty, and years of service.

3- The level of the organizational climate prevailing in the Palestinian universities had also a high degree, with a relative weight of (73.60%).

4- There were statistically significant differences for the level of the organizational climate prevailing in Palestinian universities attributable to the variable ‘educational institution,’ in favor of the Islamic University, with the exception of the field of ‘organizational structure’ and the field of ‘participation in decision-making’, where there were no differences.

5- There were no statistically significant differences for the level of the organizational climate prevailing in Palestinian universities attributable to the variable ‘academic grade, the variable of ‘years of service’, and the variable of ‘faculty’ except for the field of ‘communication style’ where there were differences in favor of scientific faculties.

6- There was a strong, positive, statistically significant relationship between the degree to which academic leaders in Palestinian universities practice excellence management, and the mean scores of their estimates to the level of the prevailing organizational climate.

The most important recommendations of the study: 1- There is a need for paying attention to scientific research projects to serve the local community and address its problems.

2 - Strengthening the system of rewards and material incentives in appreciation of the efforts of hardworking teachers and employees.
