الملخص الإنجليزي

The study aims at identifying the relationship between work -family balance and family cognitive orientation and social harmony among female doctors in Gaza gavernate.

The study used descriptive analytical approach.

The study tools were the: Family Cognitive Orientation Scale (prepared by the researcher), the Family Harmony Scale (developed by Lam, et al), and Work-Family Balance Scale (developed by Jeremy Hayman.

The sample of the study consisted from (104) married female doctors which is about (48.4%) of the original population of the study.

The most important findings of the study : • There is an average level among female doctors for family cognitive orientation with a relative weight of (59.5%), while the level of family social harmony had a high level with a relative weight of (79.9%).

There is a balance between work and family with a low percentage of (56.1%).

• There is no relationship between cognitive orientation and work/family balance.

• There is a relationship between family social harmony and work/family balance.

• There are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the responses of the study sample members on the cognitive orientation towards the family and social harmony towards the family and the balance between work and family among female doctors attributable to the following variables (years of experience, wife's age, nature of work, number of children).

• There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the responses of the study sample members on social harmony towards the family among married female doctors in Gaza Governorate attributable to the husband's work variable.
