Objectives: This study aims to identify the emotional divorce problem from the Jordanian married women’s perspective in Eastern Amman Governorate, to identify the reasons of emotional divorce, to reveal their opinions on the effects and consequences of emotional divorce; In addition, to know if there are statistically significant differences in the causes and effects of emotional divorce regarding to the variables: The age when getting married, number of years of marriage, type of residence.

Methods: The study population consisted of married Jordanian women in the eastern areas of Amman governorate.

A random sample was selected included (380) married females.

The questionnaire was used as a tool to reach the results, it consisted of 40 questions divided into four parts; the first part related to the demographic data of the sample members, the second part covered the reasons of emotional divorce, the third part concerned the effects and dimensions of emotional divorce, and the last part concernd the reasons for the continuation of marital life despite the existence of manifestations of emotional divorce.
