Semiotics of title in the collection of "The Alphabet of Exile and Gun" by Ibn alShati Semiotics of title is one of the most important contemporary issues raised in the critical arena, as it is the focus of semiotic study and the first thing the reader can see Refering to the collection of “The Alphabet of Exile and Gun” by the Palestinian poet Ismail Ibrahim Shatat, nicknamed Ibn al-Shati’, we find that the poet selected the titles of his poems quite carefully, so they all revolve around the issues of occupation, longing, eagerness, nostalgia and the desire for freedom from colonialism, a matter which suggests that there is an implicit relationship between the main title and the sub-titles that are scattered between the folds of the collection.
