This study is intended to identify police awareness-related role and key skills policemen should possess to communicate with the public and assume a community role.

it also aims to identify key methods of persuasion employed by policemen in getting their communication messages through to the public.

descriptive, analytical method was used; in-depth interviews were conducted with faculty members of Saad al-Abdullah academy for security sciences.

the aim was to carry out a qualitative analysis based on interpretation and analysis, and to highlight viewpoints of academics specializing in police science so as to come up with an analytical vision illustrating police awareness – related role in communicating with the public, and its impact on promoting security in the state of Kuwait.

findings have shown that ability to communicate; physical fitness and cultural awareness were the key job skills police officers should possess.
