This research looks forward to care for the place in it's all represntations that appear as a sign model full of significance.

The most important of place represntations is the city which has accompanied man's march since his earlier ages and it has formed with it's all appearances a great cognitive dimension.

It also has enriched with large aspirations which are generated from man's strive to stick with place because it is the first moments through which can sense and discover his new world.

Man doesn't leave the area of attention in city even in his modern ages but this attention has grown up and varied recently.

This is represented in the poem " Greeting to the immortal City Baghdad in it's millennial anniversary " by the poet Sayed Mustafa Jamal Aldeen as a suitable pattern to research in the modern text signs of the city.

In a summary presentation, the research deals with the most important objectives and prospects of the semiotic approach.

The first part explains the text dealing with the city described as an effective essence.

In the second part, the city represents with it's cultural weight as a parallel text.

The third part deals with what isotopie represents in the city text described as one of the most important tools of semiotic approach.
