The aim of this research is to reveal the extent of the interest of Suez university administration in intellectual capital to achieve its competitive advantage, and to clarify intellectual capital as a strategic concept, and as a tool that contributes to achieve the competitive advantage of Suez university.

the researcher used the "descriptive approach" to collect information and review the literatures.

the research has a set of results such as : Suez university is an educational and research institution concerned with the development of intellectual capital in its three dimensions (human, structural, and relational), but it has not played the specific role that would achieve its competitive advantage locally and regionally because it faces a set of challenges like many other Egyptian universities, including : the lack of joint programs with international universities, the basic structure of faculty members in some colleges has not been completed, the increase of delegates number to activate some programs in the faculties of Suez university, which increases the burdens of the costs on it, the lack of self-resources of the university, while neglecting the completion of laboratory and teaching equipment in some newly established colleges, and this affects both the quality of education and the efficiency of graduates, as well as the delay of Suez University in establishing the strategic planning unit, and consequently the lack of dealing many faculty members and university employees with strategic development, and the intensification of regional competition between Suez university and other public and private universities, and the university operates in a narrow research marketing scope because it lacks the technological infrastructure and rules of global data that enables it to achieve higher rates of marketing its research.

also, Suez university depends to a large extent on the state budget in spending on research funding, the university does not provide sustainable training courses to develop the capabilities of faculty members; it also does not follow up on its graduates.

in addition, Suez university is scarcely doing scientific research that contributes to solve the problems of the Suez society, Sinai and other surrounding local areas.

hence, the research included a proposed conception aimed at maximizing the intellectual capital at Suez university to achieve its competitive advantage, and the research concluded with a set of recommendations.
