The study aimed to measure the impact of strategic planning with all its dimensions(vision, mission, environmental scanning, objectives, and strategies) on organizational performance based on the balanced scorecard with its dimensions (learning and growth, internal operations, customer satisfaction, and financial performance) in the Yarmouk water company in Jordan.

as well as examining the impact of information technology in modifying the impact of(strategic planning) with its combined dimensions in (organizational performance) with its combined dimensions in Yarmouk water company.

the study followed the descriptive analytical approach.

the study population consisted of the Yarmouk water company with its (10) branches operating in the four northern governorates (Irbid, Mafraq, Jerash, and Ajloun), the sampling unit consisted of directors and heads of departments and units totaling (167) managers.

the problem of the study is manifested in the existence of a gap between the desired performance and what is being achieved on the ground.

in addition the need to go towards strategic planning and formulate a clear and verifiable vision, mission and strategic objectives through building and implementing strategies in an integrated process that depends on accurate information about the external and internal environments provided by the company by information technology.

in order to achieve the objectives of this study, a questionnaire was developed and distributed to the members of the sampling unit, and after retrieving the filled questionnaires, (159) questionnaires were valid for statistical analysis.

the study revealed that there is a statistically significant impact of (strategic planning) in (organizational performance) based on the balanced scorecard in the Yarmouk water company.

the study also found that the impact of (strategic planning) in (organizational performance) has increased in light of the presence of information technology as a moderator in the Yarmouk water company.

based on these results, the study introduced number of recommendations, the most important of which are : the need for the Yarmouk water company to continue its interest in the strategic planning process in all its dimensions, which leads to achieving alignment between the strategic objectives and the strategies that will be implemented to achieve these objectives.

in addition to the need for the company’s management to focus on exchanging and sharing information among all the managerial levels and their branches spread across the four northern governorates, through the optimal utilization of information technology.
