It is undisputable that the nation’s life sinew is principally dependent on the maturity of the teaching and learning, which are, themselves, based on the maturity of their pillars, mainly methodology.

since the Moroccan patrimonial pattern, in this respect, did not receive the care it deserves, on the one hand, and considering my own relation with it on many levels on the other hand; i decided to write this article entitled : “methods of teaching Islamic sciences in the Moroccan patrimonial pattern :issues and basics” to briefly discuss five major points.

first, i spoke about the position of Islamic sciences in the Moroccan patrimonial pattern, and they proved to be the backbone of this pattern.

i then mentioned the general characteristics of the methods of teaching in the Moroccan patrimonial pattern.

these characteristics are scattered and briefly mentioned in the literature, making it hard to distinguish or categorize them.

moreover, these characteristics are mostly related to “sheikhs” (master teachers), thus stick to what Muslim theorists in education and teaching have asserted.

after that, i defined principles and fundamentals of the previously mentioned methods like memorizing, gradation, organization, mastering… i, then, uncovered how the Moroccan patrimonial pattern was concerned with what is now considered a creation in the modern educational pattern.

for instance, the so called four principles; namely: unification, publicizing, moroccanization and Arabicizing, in addition to many other issues like education for free, continuous training, fun, sport etc.

in the end, i mentioned some drawbacks of those methods, especially recently, like the focus on charging learners minds with ready information without participating in building them, and making knowledge no more than mechanical tools instead of helping learners to understand and grasp them.

in addition to the monotonous teacher/learner relationship, being restricted to lecturing and receiving far from the required interaction between them.

i finished the article with some conclusions like the lack of care the Moroccan patrimonial pattern has suffered.

this deprived the modern educational system of benefiting from the important basics and principles of patrimonial pattern.

i also found that this pattern was strongly based on the Islamic identity of Moroccan people, and that it was interested in many issues the modern pattern considers a creation, like self-assessment, preparation, prize, motivation… i also included some recommendations.

mainly, the necessity of benefiting from all educational patterns while building a new one to guarantee its effectiveness and efficiency.

this can be reached only through holding meetings and workshops to collate and compare different educational pattern to come up with a comprehensive one that includes their mature and fully developed components, whereas excluding any weaknesses or flaws in them.
