The study aimed to identify the effect of using the CORT Program (Cognitive Research Trust) on the acquisition of scientific concepts among fifth-grade students in Palestine, in light of their motivation towards the science subject.

The study used the semi-experimental Design with a targeted sample consisted of 50 students from the “At-Ta’leemAlhadeeth Basic Co-education School” in the City of Nablus.

The sample was randomly divided into two classes: an experimental class with 25 students on which CORT Program was applied, and a control class with 25 students on which the normal teaching method was applied.

In order to achieve the study objectives, the researchers prepared both: a test for scientific concepts and a measurement of motivation.

The study came up with the following results: there were statistically significant differences in the mean of achievement scores of the science concept test between the two classes of the sample.

In specific, the group who was subject to the CORT Program achieved higher scores mean than the control group.

The study results also showed that there were no statistically significant effects between the mean of acquiring science concepts among the sample members.

The researchers attribute this to the interaction between the teaching method and students’ motivation towards science.

In light of the study results, the researchers presented a set of recommendations.
