The research dealt with the social, economic and political challenges facing women in the eastern states of Sudan, and the research problem was that women in eastern Sudan face social challenges represented in the cultural heritage, which affects their educational conditions, as they suffer from a high rate of illiteracy and drop out of school due to poverty, although women She participates in agriculture and some simple works and herding animals.

Politically, we find that the participation of women is very weak.

The importance of the research comes from the importance of the eastern region and its location overlooking the Red Sea, and also comes from the importance of the role of women as half of society and the importance of this research as an addition to scientific knowledge, as all steps of the research were followed.

Among the objectives of the research is to identify the challenges facing women in eastern Sudan, and to know the qualitative excellence in the field of education and the extent of its impact on their economic status in the family and society, and to know the impact of societal customs and traditions on the status and roles of women.

Identifying the obstacles that prevent women’s ability to Received a good education, as well as exposure to the obstacles that hinder the political performance of women in the East.

In the research, the historical method was used to identify the history of the eastern region, as well as the descriptive method was used to describe the phenomenon under study in an in-depth description.

The data collection from secondary sources of books and references and their primary sources was carried out by conducting some interviews with some individuals from the eastern region.

The results of the research came that girls are married off at an early age through long customs and traditions, which leads to depriving them of continuing their education.

Also, among the results is that women have a great social position, which is preserved by the eastern society.

One of the results is that women work in agriculture and small businesses, but they do not work in leadership positions in numbers.

And the results also came that women in the East have no political roles, but almost no political participation.
