The presence of gypsies in Egypt dates back to the 16th century AD, and at this time they considered strangers in the land of Egypt.

Roma communities live in isolation on the margins of society, and their conditions are ambiguous, their folk heritage passed down generation after generation, in addition to the environmental impact that varied from region to region, is reflects in their entire situation.

One of the tasks of the "Folk Heritage Studies" is to shed light on the previous historical stages of the life of culture and society.

Therefore, this study reviews some of the main crafts and professions of the Gypsies in Egypt, stating the general features of each craft and its clothing based on the collection of relevant information and data from different sources.

The study found that Roma occupations were subject to the nature of their moving lives, so they practiced certain occupations and crafts that were in line with their non-sedentary way of life.
