The study dealt with the assessment of the environmental and social impact of solid waste pollution in the locality of Embeda, Khartoum State, to know the impact of solid waste on the natural and human environment in the study area.

and it relied on many approaches and data collection methods, represented in the descriptive experimental, historical , and statistical approaches and on primary and secondary sources.

the study concluded that the area suffers from the spread of solid waste leading to high frequency of nasty odor emissions that affected the health of the population and other types of pollution not to mention the spread of visual pollution on the one hand, and to the concentration of some minor elements such as chromium, lead, cadmium and manganese below the permissible limits in soil samples on the other hand.

the study recommended the need to increase sanitation workers, empowering the existing solid waste efforts besides educating the population and activating laws.
