The Algerian revolution realized since its outbreak that the media is one of the main means against colonialism, along with the power of arms, based on this importance came the employment of various media and propaganda in this struggle march both traditional ones such as newspapers and programs and notices published by the national movement, or new ones like radio, cinema, theater and other means.

France also attempted to adopt a media policy countering the Algerian revolution, wanted to turn facts and mislead world opinion, through what it was claiming about the nature of the revolution as a mafia crimes, and the descriptions that were spread it about the Algerian revolution and revolutionaries, in which the French press was the first source of events and developments in Algeria, this is what made the leadership of the Algerian revolution think about mechanisms that allow them to make their voices heard among the Algerian people at home and at the level of international public opinion abroad.
