The study aimed to investigate the impact of corporate governance practices (effective governance framework, board efficiency, focus on achieving objectives, disclosures and transparency, and protecting shareholders’ rights) on strategic decisions making(complexity, continuity, rationality, and control) at Jordanian commercial banks.

the study population consists of all (13) Jordanian commercial banks.

the study sample consists six banks chosen by propoused sample method according to the number of its employees criterion which exceeds (1200) employees, namely (Arab Bank, Housing Bank for trade and finance, Jordan, Cairo Amman, al-Ahli Jordan, Jordan Kuwait Bank).

the Arab bank being execluded due to their internal policy which prohibits them from participating in the study.

thus, the number of banks study sample were five banks, namely (housing bank for trade and finance, Jordan, Cairo Amman, al-Ahli Jordan, Jordan Kuwait Bank).

the sampling unit included employees of the top management in the Jordanian commercial banks (head office), totaling (061) employees0 to achieve the study’s objectives, the descriptive analytical method was applied to collect and analyze the data, which was obtained from(139) employees who responded to a questionnaire.

a number of statistical methods is used such as means, standard deviation and multiple regression.

after analyzing the data collected, the following end results were reached: there was a statistically impact of corporate governance practices at (0.05) (board efficiency, focus on achieving objectives, disclosures plus transparency, and protecting shareholders’ rights) on strategic decisions making (complexity, continuity, rationality, and control) at Jordanian commercial banks.

on the other hand, there was no statistically impact of effective framework for governance at (0.05) on strategic decision making (complexity, continuity, rationality, and control) at Jordanian commercial banks.

the study recommended that the Jordanian commercial banks must adopt corporate governance frameworks based on principles set by international organization as organisation for economic co-operation and development (OECD), to help improve and strength their activities.

this should be accompanied by informative booklets and guides that serve as an introduction to corporate governance principles (set by international organizations and by the central bank of jordan), in addition to setting up mechanisms that insure implementation and practice of these principles.
