One fifth of the world’s population suffer allergic diseases (i.e.

allergic afthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis).

Allergic individuals exhibit higher predisposition to produce allergens’ specific immunoglobulins (IgE), allergens are identified via in vitro and/or in vivo sensitivity .(tefts, moft importantly the Skin Prick Teft (SPT In a retrospective ftudy, we reviewed the records of afthmatic outpatients in hospitals, allergology clinics and specialized centers in Damascus.

Collected data encompassed patient’s gender, age, governance, allergens comprised in the SPT kit, and tefts’ results (positive vs.

Our visits to 18 allergology specialized centers and clinics, and thoracic departments resulted in identifying one reliable source of comprehensive data of 2057 patients who underwent SPT between 1997 and 2009, aged between 4 to 77 years, and with a majority of females (64%).

Prevalence of positive SPT was the higheft towards aeroallergens from Dermatophagoides pter-onyssinus (D.Pt) (n=1676, 84.5%), grass pollens (Mix B2) (n=1303, 63.4%), Dermatophagoides Farinae (D.F.) (n=1252, 61.9%), and tree pollens (Mix B3) (n=1071, 52.1%).
