This research aims to investigate the role of Science Curricula of Preparatory Stage in developing standards of quality-of-life requirements.

To achieve this aim, the descriptive approach was used in collecting data necessary for making a list of standards of quality-of -life requirements.

In the light of this list, a checklist for describing the real situation and a quality-of-life scale for identifying the level of Preparatory School students in achieving standards of requirements of quality-of-life were designed.

The scale was applied to (330) male/female students in (Cairo, Sharkia and Minya) Governorates.

The results of application showed a clear disregard for these standards in Science curricula and poor representation for most of indicators of these standards in Science curricula elements.

The application of the scale also showed the students' weakness concerning this side.

An enrichment unit in one of quality-of-life requirements which is “environment” was developed.

To investigate the effectiveness of the proposed unit in developing the indicators of this requirement standards, the experimental approach with two groups was used.

The research instrument “quality-of-life scale” concerning the “environment” requirement was applied to (38) students representing the experimental group and (36) students representing the control group during the second semester of the academic year (2021/2022).

The results of application showed that there is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group students in the pre – post application of the research instrument in favour of the post application.

The results also showed that there is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups' students in favour of the experimental ones.

The value of the effect size pertaining the unit application was high which indicates its effectiveness.

The research recommended the need for updating the Science standards so as to include the standards of quality-of-life requirements into Science curricula in addition to training teachers on using them.

The research also recommended the need for evaluating Science curricula of the Primary Stage in the light of these standards.
