This research is an examination of the critique by the imams of Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah regarding the legitimacy of Kalām theology and the claim that it’s compatible with the foundation of the religion that the revelation was sent down with.

That was made by searching after their texts and looking through their statements to extract this critique.

The main objective of this research is to establish the Salafī position regarding Kalām theology and to clarify its reasonableness and correctness.

It contains this main objective and other subobjectives, such as demonstrating the awareness of the imams of the Salaf about the existence of the alienation between the Sunnah and Kalām theology that the Kalam theologians have brought about.

It also distinguished the Salafi debate about creed from the innovated Kalām theology, and the Kalām interpretations of the position of the Salaf regarding Kalām theology.

By the manifestation of their criticism of its legitimacy and clarifying the reasons of their critique of this knowledge and its people it clarified the disownment of the Kalām theologians from that position, by giving explanations about their criticism that does not separate from it.
