This study investigates the theme of totemism of the Dago people in Darfur to describe the evolution of their religion which invented emblems relevant to sacred kingship they established in the region.

Thesis of the problem lies on disappearance of the religion of the ancient Dago Kingdom due to convertion of its people into Abrahamite religions.

Its essential objective is to assimilate and interpret the nature of their religion and its royal emblems to show their impacts on customs and kingships of African.

The ethnographic method is applied to achieve the objective via enquirying on the phenomenon of their totemism to induce new findings that could contribute to human knowledge.

The significance of the study is derived from its ability to shade light on the most important elements of cultural heritage of such ancient people in the Nile valley who are diffused from East to West Africa transferring with them culture of totemism as an aspect of functions of social contract.

Major conclusion reached is that there is powerful influence of their totemism on customs and systems of governance in Africa.

It is recommended that patterns of totemic emblems left by them in other countries should be revisited.
