The study aimed to identify the relationship of mindfulness to emotional labor among mental health professionals.

To achieve the objectives of the study, a descriptive correlational design was employed, by using Mindfulness Scale developed by Baer and his colleagues (2006), and Emotional Labor Scale developed by Yin (2012).

The sample consisted of (319) mental health professionals in the local and international humanitarian organizations in Jordan.

The results showed that the level of mindfulness among professionals was moderate, where observation ranked first, followed by lack of response, description, conscious action, and non-judgment, respectively.

It was found that the level of emotional labor among professionals was high, where deep acting ranked first, followed by act of realism, and finally surface acting.

There were no statistically significant differences between the means scores of mindfulness and emotional labor among professionals due to gender, educational level, marital status, while a statistically significant difference between the means scores of deep acting domain of emotional labor was found due to experience, in favor of more than 10 years.

The results revealed a statistically significant negative correlation at (α=0.05) between mindfulness and surface acting, while a positive correlation at (α=0.05) was found between mindfulness and deep acting and act of realism.

In light of the results, recommendations were provided.
