This study deals with the reality of applying distance education in accordance with international standards in Sudanese universities (Sudan Open University as a model).

The problem of this research is related to the extent of application of international standards for distance education.

Acceptance and registration standards, controls and measures that are consistent and in line with international standards , There is still a wide gap between reality and what should be the status of distance education in all its academic, administrative and technical programs, and the problem of this research is related to the concept of educational technologies, considering that distance education is one of the educational innovations whose modem features were formed in the light of these technologies, where This concept broadens to include methods, systems and programs capable of bringing about the required development in traditional education systems , The research acquires its importance from the nature of the subject itself.

Distance education, despite its old age by virtue of its emergence and development in the educational field, is new to higher education institutions in Sudan.

This research aims to identify the extent to which the current academic subject in distance education programs matches international Standards in terms of modernity It also aims to identify the quality of the Study notes in terms of printing, the quality of the papers and the extent of their conformity with the comprehensive quality Standards The limits of the field Study were confined to the State of Khartoum and on this basis, distance education Students at Sudan Open University were selected as the target group.

The researcher followed the descriptive approach using the questionnaire as a tool.

The results of the Study showed that the prescribed fees are exorbitant, which alienates Students from the distance education program.

And that there is a relationship between the students and the course assigned to them, which contributed to their acceptance of it, and the results of the study showed the quality of printing Study notes, which increased their love and passion for it, the results of the study also showed the administration’s commitment to exam controls, which confirms the quality of the exam program for students.

In light of these results, the researcher made recommendations which are to develop plans to develop curricula according to an organized and tight methodology, to pay attention to administrative structures and systems in remote education units in Sudanese universities, to pay attention to study notes in design, printing and technical production.
