This study aimed to monitor, analyze and evaluate the credibility studies of traditional and modern media in Arab studies, to find out the credibility criteria used in these studies, the reasons that led to the discrepancy of these criteria and the quality of criteria used in modern media credibility studies.

the analysis is from the second level.

the study relied on access to studies and research on the available sample.

it analyzed (79) studies which included (97) measures during the period (1987 - 2022).

the most prominent results of the study were: - the study of the credibility of the modern media ranked first among the credibility studies, followed by the studies of the credibility of the traditional media, and then the studies that combined the two means.

-the studies that used criteria whose number ranged between (6-10) criteria came first, followed by the studies that used criteria whose number ranged between (16-20) criteria.

-the most common reasons for the discrepancy in the number of criteria is the combination of the main criteria and sub-indicators and their repetition, then the combination of criteria and variables that affect credibility but are not criteria.

-the results showed the most and least used credibility criteria in Arab studies and the indicators of each criterion.

-the results showed that modern media credibility studies used the criteria used in traditional media, and modern credibility criteria.
