This research studied the opinions quoted from al-Akhfash in one of the chapters on grammar, which is the conjunction chapter, since Al-Akhfash had a set of opinions on various issues, which were quoted by Alluma's explanations (Sharh Alluma) because of the importance of these sayings since Al-Akhfash is one of the scholars and a pillar of the Basra School.

He also alleged for these issues with the Qur’anic evidence, the poetic evidence and other evidences that the grammarians relied on, as many grammarians followed him in these opinions.

Therefore, his statements were the focus for the commentators’ interest in explaining the meanings of these letters and their significance, whether they agreed with him or not.

The descriptive analytical approach was adopted in explaining and describing the opinions.

The study found that Al-Akhfash added some letters such as: W letter (و) and then (ثم), or suspended them from work, as in even the conjunction (حتى), when he said that it was suspended from work.
