This research was divided into an introduction, three topics, and a conclusion.

I talked in the introduction about the reasons for choosing the topic, and as for the first topic, It included an overview of the construction of the Umayyad Mosque, while the second section contained an introductory profile on Ibn Asaker and his book The History of Damascus, and the third section was on the imams of the Umayyad Mosque through the history of Damascus, and then I concluded the research with the conclusion in which I showed the most important results of the research and of Most notably: Ibn Asakir used to avoid mentioning the Umayyads in naming the mosque, as he used to call it the Damascus mosque, the Damascus mosque, or the Maamur mosque, and perhaps that was a matter of taking into account the risks of the Abbasid Caliphate, and from the results and the existence of a disparity in the educational level of those who assumed the leadership of the Umayyad Mosque, Also, the books of translations were not helped The researcher sometimes builds an integrated translation for some imams
