The research deals with the study and publication of a new type for the Ayyubid dirhem which was mint in Damascus, attributed to Elsaleh Ismail king, who ruled Damascus months in the year 635 AH / 1237AD and another period from the year 637-643 AH/ 1240-1245AD.

An inventory of the published dirhem types, then published and studying its new type, explaining its general form with analyzing its inscriptions in the light of historical circumstances, indicating the reason for its classification as a new type, and explaining the differences between its previous published types and the new dirhem type, which is preserved in the Saeed Ragab collection the weight 2.8 grams and 20 mm in diameter.
