This study presents an objective scientific presentation of the use of virtual currency by terrorist groups and organizations, with the aim of understanding and clarifying the mechanisms and purposes of these groups from their use, and the role they may play in supporting terrorism.

The importance of this study - as far as we know - is that it opens up prospects for researchers and those interested to expand the study of the phenomenon of these groups' use of virtual currency to support their activities in light of the increasing international interest in these currencies and their reaching imaginary prices, which will have a major role in supporting illegal business and activities, including: That terrorism, as well as benefit from its results in finding appropriate solutions to reduce the risks of using these currencies in support of terrorism.

The research used the documentary method through reviewing related theoretical works to study the subject from its various aspects, based on previous studies and reliable reports in this regard.

The results of the study revealed the danger of using virtual currencies such as Bitcoin to support terrorism, perhaps the most important of which are: the high encryption of these currencies, and the large market value in light of the recent boom of these currencies.

The study recommended conducting more studies and research by academic and security institutions towards searching for solutions that limit the use of these currencies in supporting terrorism.
