Based on the importance of the university textbook, there must be control over its quality to verify the availability of the standards, specifications or conditions required in the university book in terms of form and content, and in order for the university textbook to achieve the goals required of it as expected, and in order to raise the degree of confidence in the content of the university textbook; in order to suggest solutions to support, reinforce and strengthen the university book so that it becomes more appropriate to the aims of the course and the vision and mission of the department, faculty and university.

several attempts have been issued from most universities, faculties, institutes of accreditation and quality at the level of the Arab world to set standards for the quality of the university textbook in order to develop and improve it and ensure that it performs the required functions from it, and with the aim of improving one of the elements of the educational process, which contributes to raising the level of graduates of faculties and institutes.

the current research problem is analyzing the content of public administration books in some faculties and institutes of commerce in Egypt in the light of the quality standards of the university textbook (in terms of form and content) ; and identifying the degree of availability of these standards in these textbooks.

the current research aims to : 1-analyzing of the content of university textbooks for the public administration course in some faculties and institutes of commerce in Egypt in the light of the quality standards of the university textbook.

2-determining the positive aspects or strengths, negative aspects, or weaknesses in the university textbooks for the public administration course in some faculties and institutes of commerce in Egypt.

3-knowing the degree of availability of quality standards for the public administration course in some faculties and institutes of commerce in Egypt.

4-suggesting a set of recommendations to increase the quality of the university textbook for the public administration course in some faculties and institutes of commerce in Egypt in order to achieve the goals required of it.

among the most important results of the research the textbooks of public administration in the study sample took into account the formal criteria by 22.47%, and the objective criteria by 21.55%.

this indicates that the formal criteria were taken into consideration more than the objective ones in preparing these textbooks.
