This study aimed at identifying the digital illiteracy represented by use challenges of smart phone technology and self-service devices and their relationship with social withdrawal of old the women.

The study adopted the social survey using sample.

The questionnaire tool was adopted to collect the necessary data for the field study.

The sample was represented by elderly Saudi women who use smart phone and self-services, whose age range between 65 years and above, and we reached them across their relatives.

The sample size was (384) individuals, selected by means of snowball sample.

The study concluded that there are actual difficulties among old women when using modern technology due to poor education, lack of experience and lack of understanding of the language of these devices.

Also, such difficulties affected the elderly women's feelings of anxiety, badness, and negativity because of their inability to fulfill their interests via technology and their dependence on others and their lack of experience with modern technology, which caused them a degree of incompatibility represented in psychological alienation.

Socially, older women have been affected by the changing world around them, their discomfort with activities that frequently use technology, and their preference to stay at home for a long time, made them feel socially withdrawn because they were unable to keep pace with the current era in which technology is widespread.

Finally, Finally, the study found that there are common challenges between the use of smart phones and self-services, as the difficulty of use converged.

This indicates that there is no difference in the challenges faced by older women, whether in the use of smartphones, or self-service.

These difficulties may be due to the lack of experience in using technology of all kinds, and the preference of older women to visit the main branches and receive the service instead of requesting it via phones and self-service machines.
