Agricultural production is the main source of the national economy and the national food security of agricultural countries, and beekeeping is one of the branches of agricultural activities, which is characterized by its low capital cost.

These simple rural projects lead to an increase in the farmer's income by obtaining many of beekeeping products such as honey, pollen, wax, bee venom, royal food, and others, which which achieves an economic return, whether at the individual or national level.

In addition, honey is of great nutritional value which can be utilized as it contains the necessary elements for the human body of sugars and vitamins.

The bees complete about 90% of the cross pollination, and it helps greatly in improving the production and the quality of the fruits, because of its importance in raising the productivity of many types of field and horticultural crops and vegetables of all kinds.

Therefore, it became necessary to study the production of honey, and then to find out how close or distant bee honey producers are from achieving economic efficiency.

The research problem is that the percentage contribution of the value of honey bee income to the value of agricultural and animal income is limited, as it was found that the value of the income from honey production amounted to about 217 million pounds, representing about 0.04% of the total value of agricultural income of about 500.4 billion pounds, and about 0.11% of the total value of animal income, which amounted to about 187.8 billion pounds during the year 2018 at the level of the Republic.

The low percentage of the value of income from honey production in Menoufia Governorate is also observed, as it amounted to about 4.9 million pounds, representing about 2.3% of the total value of income from honey production on the level of the Republic during the same year, which requires studying the financial evaluation of honey production projects in order to identify the extent of its financial viability to help investors make their production decisions in a manner that leads to achieving an increase in the value of honey production in the agricultural sector.

The research aims in general to study the economic feasibility of honey production projects in Menoufia Governorate by studying the current situation of the evolution of cell numbers and the quantity and value of honey production during the period (2005-2018), and the financial evaluation of honey production projects, and identifying the most important problems facing Honey production projects.

The research dealt with the development of cell numbers and the quantity and value of honey production in Egypt and Menoufia Governorate, as well as the main economic features of the honey production projects.

This part was addressed by studying the cost and revenue structure of honey production in the study sample in Menoufia Governorate during 2019/2020.

It has been relying on some statistical measures and indicators, as well as calculating some of the financial evaluation criteria represented in both the internal rate of return and the net present value of cash flows, as well as the ratio of return to costs, as well as calculating the capital recovery period at a discount rate of 14.38%, as criteria for investment evaluation.

On the other hand, the sensitivity analysis method was applied where the research assumed a change of 10% for the variables under problems facing apiaries projects that produce honey.

In view of the financial viability of honey production projects, the research recommends circulating these projects at the level of Menoufia Governorate, while providing material support to the owners of honey production projects, and providing all financial guarantees and facilities, whether through long-term loans with simple interest, or by subsidizing the prices of production requirements necessary for their establishment.
