This study aims at interpreting Jarir’s poetry in commendating the Umayyads politicians.

It also aims at interpreting the poet’s method in this type of commendation, considering that commendation is rooted in Arabic poetry.

Besides, Jarir is one of the most famous poets who pioneers the Umayyad’s poets.

This characterizes the importance of the study which considers the art commendation in relation to the Umayyads politicians.

In this sense, it is essential to give a brief introduction about the art of commendation, linguistically and conventionally, in adition to its origins.

It is also essential to get a glimpse into the poet’s life and his era, tracing his method in commendating politicians.

The study has concluded that Jarir had kept the method of commendation poem which had been set up by pre-Islamic poets.

He had adhered to its images, but he was of a special way in commendation where he had followed the Islamic method.

He had pointed out that Caliphate was a sealed fate in The House of The Umayyads, which Allah had privileged Caliphs and their direct descendants.

They were satisfied with this judgement which had established Requisites of Islam and had been strengthened.

Meanwhile, Jarir had mixed between the Bedouin and Islamic-Urban expressions, creating a sense of Smoothness.

The researcher has strongly recommended that scholars should deliberate Jarir’s poetry to extract its impressive technical images.

Studying technical image and style, specifically in his Love poetry, which was tenderer in passion and expression than his commendation, in addition to studying his music in poetry, all of that need careful contemplation.
