Three-phase induction motor’s speed controlled by fuzzy logic controller based on vector control theory

The induction motors have been widely used in industrial applications for their robustness and the cost of maintenance.

It is very important to control the induction motor’s speed to attain high efficiency and maximum torque.

In this paper, applying a fuzzy logic technique to control the motor speed with the target to minimize loss and maximize torque.

The fuzzy logic controller depends on the field-oriented control technique (FOC) as it ensures high dynamic performance and provides superior control of the motor torque.

According to the parameters of the motor model, the membership functions are chosen and the motor model is derived.

By using MATLAB/SIMULINK software tools, modeling and simulation of the induction motor and the vector control drive are implemented.

The Simulation results of the proposed speed controller technique are presented and show stability and accuracy
