يعد البحث عن المعنى من أهم المواضيع التي بحث فيها اللغويون قديما و حديثا، و من بينهم اللسانيون التوليديون و يرمي هذا المقال إلى تسليط الضوء على جهودهم في هذا الميدان و خاصة فيلمور صاحب نظرية «قواعد الحالات» ؛ الذي يرى فيها أن البنية الدلالية أهم من التركيب إذ بينت من خلال هذه الدراسة أن قواعد الحالات ليست نظرية تتعامل بشكل مباشر مع الأدوار السطحية بل هي نظام دلالي و صفي يتعامل مع المستوى الدلالي للقواعد، و أن المعنى فيها كامن في البنية المنطقية للجمل.

Meaning is the most important topic searched by linguistic studies in the past and present, in this article explains the idea of meaning by Charles Fillmore, the author of the theory of case rules and the frames semantics, who believes that the semantic structure is more important than the syntax, although his professor Noam Chomsky focused his first research on syntax, this makes his work a strong response to that of his professor, who later realized the importance of semantics in linguistic theory.
in this article we will answer the question, what is the meaning of the theory of case rules ? what’s the meaning of case rule theory ? and how it’s determined, and what’s Fillmore looking for ? is it the meaning in the surface, deep or logical structure ? it will become clear to the reader that the true meaning is contained in the logical structure of the sentences.

La recherche du sens est l’un des thèmes les plus importants sur lesquels les linguistes ont fait des recherches à la fois anciennes et modernes, y compris les linguistes génératifs dont les efforts dans ce domaine sont mis en évidence dans cet article, en particulier Fillmore, le théoricien des «règles de cas» dans lequel il considère que la structure sémantique est plus importante que l’installation.
cette étude a montré que les règles de cas ne sont pas une théorie qui traite directement des rôles superficiels, mais plutôt un système sémantique et descriptif qui traite du niveau sémantique des règles, et que leur signification est inhérente à la structure logique des phrases.
