The vision of the Kingdom 2030 had its orientation towards developing the competitive position of Saudi universities by increasing the number of Saudi universities in the international classification of universities.

hence the importance of the study in the extent to which these universities achieve a distinct arrangement that achieves the vision of the Kingdom 2030 and addressing the orientation of Saudi universities from global competitiveness standards.

the study aims to determine the availability of international classification standards for universities in Saudi universities and to identify the obstacles facing universities to obtain the international classification of universities and then reach recommendations and proposed plans for the development of universities in this regard.

the study followed the descriptive analytical approach in collecting data in a number of Saudi universities.

international standards for the classification of Saudi universities (as a whole) with a relative weight of up to (72.78%), and in the highest order came the standard of electronic presence of the university, followed by the quality of scientific research, followed by the international image of the university, then the quality of the educational process, and the last ranking appeared for the standard of community service quality, the study recommended: setting the university’s periodic budgets in proportion to the number of faculty members, increasing research cooperation between Saudi universities and international universities, activating the mechanisms of representing employers in the process of evaluating the performance of graduates and participating in various councils and advisory committees in Saudi universities, continuous development of academic programs in line with the needs of the labor market and technical and knowledge developments.
