The animal production sector in Egypt is an important and essential source of animal protein needed for human food, including red meat and its various alternatives and animal products.

the sustainable agricultural development strategy until 2030 aims to increase the per capita share of animal protein by about 33 g / day by 2030 by prioritizing development livestock, poultry and fisheries on the basis of economic efficiency with a focus on encouraging small breeders.

the main objective of the research is to study and analyze the cost and profitability structure of field fattening projects in the Nubaria region, representing the new lands, and to identify the most important obstacles to their development and ways to solve them.

by achieving several secondary goals.

the research reached several results, the most important of which are : (1) the absolute superiority of the Nubaria region by about 91.02%, in relation to the total number of livestock fattening projects at the level of the new lands, in addition to its superiority in relation to the number of livestock fattening projects at the level of the republic.

(2) livestock fattening farms in the Nubaria region follow two production systems, the first two production cycles per year, and the second one production cycle per year.

(3) fattened calves are mixed calves of cows, and they are all bought by bargaining method, and the feeding is relied on concentrated feed that is installed inside the farm and which breeders resort to to reduce feeding costs than in the case of reliance on high-priced manufactured feed.

(4) evaluate the efficiency measures.

the productivity (farm income) used in the two systems of livestock production farms in the Nubaria region is positive, which indicates the possibility of developing these projects, as they are one of the pillars that contribute effectively to reducing the deficit between consumption and production of red meat, and providing job opportunities for young people ..
