Anyone who contemplates the literary and cultural scene will find that the Arabs were not as preoccupied with an issue as they were with the issue of Arab heritage.

therefore, several trends emerged that attempted to study heritage according to their intellectual vision and cultural orientation, and the supporters of these trends exchanged many accusations, ranging from dependence on foreign countries or backwardness and an attempt to drag societies backward and away from participating in global cultural action.

none of the supporters of these trends were able to control the Arab cultural scene.

from here came the idea of the research, which will discuss four axes : the first axis : the concept of heritage.

the second axis : supporters of sanctifying the Arab heritage and viewing those who try to deviate from it as supporting western culture and accusing them of subordination to the other.

the second axis : supporters of a complete departure from the Arab heritage and an attempt to find alternatives, which is what was called the cognitive intersection with the heritage, and this appeared clearly with the poets of the seventies.

the third axis : an attempt to reconcile respect for heritage and an attempt at renewal, but this attempt was weak and could not withstand the shocks of the supporters of the first two trends.

this research attempts to monitor these themes, study the vision of their supporters, and try to find commonalities between them.

the supporters of these visions cannot continue to walk in parallel lines without converging at some point.

the question that arises is : how can we bridge the gap between these groups and restore communication and dialogue between them ? in order to reconsider how it deals with Arab heritage, and to recognize the existence of a safe bridge of communication between the past and the present, while emphasizing the necessity of renewal, and what I mean here by renewal is positive, conscious renewal that does not set off after the other with a blind eye and does not fall into the pit of the past, but rather deals with heritage with modern tools.
