The study aims at collecting the jurisprudential choices in the chapter on fasting of one of the scholars and judges of the Hadhrami region, Abdullah Bin Mahfouz al-Haddaad (1923 1996 AD) from his book "al-Wajeez on the rulings of fasting and fatwas of ramadhan".

it aims to present the scholar's jurisprudential choices, mentioning the approved shafi'i sect and then comparing the choices of the scholar with the opinions of the scholars of the four schools of thought stating their evidence and reasoning on the basis of authority, besides considering the preponderant ones to clarify the most preferred one.

al-Haddaad was distinguished through his practice of judgment and fatwas for more than a third of a century, combining authenticity with modernity, and possessing a wise balance with regard to jurisprudential issues with a tendency to adopt the golden mean and liberation from mere imitation.

the study reached to a set of results including preponderance of the issues chosen by al-Haddaad as well as his possession of sublime knowledge in the science of islamic law.

moreover, his choices depend on foundations which include abidance by the apparent non-disputing legal evidence, implementation of the rule of facilitation taking into account the objectives of the noble shariah and giving preference to what has been scientifically proven by the medical sciences that manifest the preponderance of some of the doctrinal issues.

the study recommended directing researchers' attention towards studying the choices of scholars of jurisprudence and fatwas due to the choices' significance in supporting the process of fatwas and standardization.

further, considering the collection and publication of al-Haddaad's heritage and choices for the benefit of scholars and researchers.
