The current search aims at identifying : the productive orientation of preparatory school teachers.

the relationship between productive orientation and empathy among preparatory school teachers.

the significance of the differences in the relationship between the productive orientation and empathy according to gender (male / female) (and according to the specialization (scientific / humanitarian) among preparatory school teachers.

the current research is limited to preparatory school teachers in wasit governorate schools, of both genders, and from scientific and humanitarian specializations in the academic year 2019-2020.

the researcher has ascertained the psychometric properties such as the validity, reliability of the three scales in two methods : firstly : by using half split, so the reliability of the orientation scale is (79) and the reliability of the sympathy scale is (56).

secondly, by using alpha cronbach formula, the reliability of the productive orientation scale is (88) and the reliability of the measure of sympathy is (71).

the scales are administeted on a sample of 400 male and female teachers, 238 males and 162 females, randomly electronically, from both genders and from the scientific and humanitarian specializations.

the results are as follows.

preparatory school teachers enjoy a productive orientation.

preparatory school teachers enjoy sympathy.

the relationship between the productive orientation and empathy is positive and weak relationship, meaning the more the orientation is, the more sympathy is, and the less the orientation is, the less sympathy is.

through the research, it is revealed that males are superior to females in general and that there are no differences due to the scientific and human specialization in the relationship between productive orientation and empathy.

in the light of these results, the researcher has developed a set of recommendations and suggestions to complete the current research.
