It has become common at the level of modern explanatory trends of the Holy Qur’an, to adopt what has become known as the “scientific trend in the interpretation of the Holy Qur’an”, which has its theorists and media who are trying to limit its origins, rules and foundations, by making it an extension of the mental tendency in interpretation, as its origins appeared in some of our ancient interpreters based on such an orientation, it emerged to establish modern interpretative works that attempt, with its methodology, to apply the mechanisms of those rules and foundations, in order to come up with a “modern” interpretation of the Holy Qur’an, reinterpreting or interpreting the surahs and Qur’anic verses, according to the nature of contemporary scientific gains and discoveries such as the interpretation of (Al-Manar) by Mohammad Abdah (the Jewels in the Interpretation of the Noble Qur’an” Interpretation by Sheikh Tantawi Jawhari, “the interpretation of the spirit of meanings” by Mahmoud Shukri Al-Alusi, and the Interpretation of “Liberation and Enlightenment” by Ibn Ashour ...

this thesis attempts, with a critical and analytical approach, to stop-Specifically-when the theoretical problems and dilemmas raised by adopting work in such a direction at the level of theory or application, in order to examine its principles and starting points, and to indicate its methodological inadequacy to rise to its approval as rules and interpretative starting points that can be relied upon and work on to reach the level of giving authority and legitimacy in establishing an explanatory trend that has clear and specific scientific rules, foundations and starting points, whether in terms of rooting or foundation.

Basing on this, the research will not be interested in defining the Fiqh figures of this trend and their interpretive works, nor in the nature of the stages of historical awareness that accompanied the development of the dimensions of this trend, as much as it is interested in critiquing and analyzing the theoretical guidelines or foundations on which the owners of this trend built their vision in interpretation, and the research will move on the basis of this treatment through two pivot complement each other, the first is to stop at the problems of establishing the starting points and theoretical foundations of the owners of the scientific trend in the interpretation of the Holy Qur’an, and the other pivot is to know the nature of the functions and ideological goals, which were behind the enthusiasm of the call to activate and root the foundations and starting points of this trend in the field of Quranic interpretation in the modern era.
