This article presents "The Book of Crates", a treatise on Arabic alchemy written in the ninth century.

Very little studied, "The Book of Crates" is a major and little known source on the history of Arab alchemy.

Through this study, we explore the fabulous story of the alchemist crates in search of the great work.

The opportunity to rediscover a forgotten teaching, shared between a scientific and technical dimension but also a philosophical and esoteric one.
