The idea of the emergence between Egypt and the country of Phoenicia in the past was the subject of disagreement between historians in determining the time of its beginning.

some of them believed that it dated back to the third millennium BC, while others attributed it to the time of direct Egyptian control over the country of Phoenicia.

so the aim of our research is to highlight the findings of recent studies to determine the path of rapprochement between the two parties, on one hand, and to refer to the archaeological evidences that were collected in both countries in order to clarify the motives of those relations, on the other hand.

then, we ask the following question: what were the motives of the Egyptians’ communication with the Phoenicians in the past, and what were the contributing factors to that? and how was the nature of relations between the two parties during the stages of pharaonic rule? recent studies have proven that the historical roots of the Egyptian-Phoenician relations were situated in the distant periods that preceded the dynastic era in Egypt, and that the interest of the Egyptians in the land of Phoenicia was purely economic and for security interests.

more, the ports of communication between Egypt and Phoenicia (through the Sinai and through the Mediterranean coast) contributed to strengthening commercial ties which were among the general phenomena of the Phoenicians with the geographical neighboring areas, especially with Egypt during the third and second millennium BC.

and, trade has been active and expanded between the two parties to include the political field and other civilization aspects.

L'idée de l'émergence des relations politiques et civilisationnelles entre l'Egypte pharaonique et la Phénicie a suscite des divergences parmi les historiens quant a la période de leur commencement certains estiment que les relations entre les deux régions remontent au 3e millénaire avant J.

C, tandis que d'autres les situent a l'époque de la domination Egyptienne directe sur la Phénicie cependant, des études récentes ont prouve les liens d l'Egypte avec les cites phéniciennes a des périodes remontant a l'époque des dynasties Égyptiennes, sur la base de preuves archéologiques retrouvées dans les différentes couches de terre des deux parties, l'intérêt des Égyptiens pour la Phénicie remonte avant même l'unification des parties de l'Egypte aux alentours de 3200 avant J.

C, en raison de l'importance extrême de la Phénicie pour l'Egypte sur les plans commercial et sécuritaire.

selon les preuves recueillies dans notre recherche, il est clair que les racines historiques des relations Pheniciennes-Egyptiennes remontent aux civilisations de “Maadi” et “Nakada I” en Égypte, c'est-a-dire aux 5e et 4e millénaires avant J.

les égyptiens ont commence ces relations en raison de leur besoin en matières premières telles que le bois de cèdre et certains minéraux, et les facteurs naturels tels que les voies de communication a travers le Sinaï et le littoral de la mer méditerranée les ont aides dans ce commerce.

les relations commerciales entre les deux parties étaient une caractéristique générale des phéniciens avec les régions voisines, en particulier pendant le 3e millénaire avant notre ère, et elles se sont intensifiées et élargies avec l'Egypte au 2e millénaire avant notre ère pour inclure le domaine politique et d'autres aspects civilisationnels.
