In food industry, the most important applications of Electron-beam (E-beam) accelerators are in pasteurizing and sterilizing food products including fruits and vegetables (fresh and dry), cereals, seeds, legumes, poultry meat, red meat and seafood.

In addition, E-beam accelerators are excellent tools for phytosanitary treatment of agricultural products.

Furthermore, they can be used in improving protein digestion, reducing antinutritional factors in legumes, improving the specifications of agricultural products to make them suitable for feeding animals and, possibly, for human consumption, and the applications list is continuously expanding.
