On approximations by *- ideals in a ring with involution

The aim of this paper is to present the concepts of -* ring approximation spaces, the congruence relation, -* ideal in a ring, and the lower and upper approximations of any subset of a ring with involution respect to-* ideals.

Some properties of approximation operators are discussed.

We introduce the rough * - ideals in a ring with involution supporting it with some theorems and illustrative examples.
