This study addresses the rise of sheikh Othman bin Fodi's call in Nigeria in western Africa.

In this regale, knowledge is obtained about the history and civilization of the area of Nigeria.

The study also touches on how Islam came to this area.

The study also sheds light upon the role of house tribes in propagating Islam in those areas, including the Fulani tribe from which sheikh Othman descends.

Sheikh Othman's call become known since 1202h, (1788g) and was impacted by reformer sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul wahab's call (1206h, 1792g).

Sheikh absorbed the principles of sheikh Mohammed's call since he became a student of scholar Gibreel bin Omar in Agadis.

In addition, sheikh Othman left for hajj and was closely acquainted with that call, which provoked his zeal and indicate him to change the innovations in religion and superstitions that he saw in his area.

Othman bin Fodi's call followed various pirogues for propagating Islam starting with perching exchanging correspondence with rulers with ending with waging Jihad against the forces of disbelief and paganism in the area.

His efforts were successful and he could establish an Islamic State that was guided by Allah`s Book and The Sunnah of the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).

Sheikh Othman Bin Fodi`s call was impacted by reformer Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulwahab`s call using its approach to call, proclamation and combat of innovations in religion and superstitions.

The capital Sokoto became a focus for knowledge and scholars in western Africa.

The power of that state was not restricted to the north of Nigeria, but encompasses the whole Nigeria.

The successors of Sheikh Othman went on to complete what he began.

They were influenced by his approach and worked on propagating Islam in Western Africa.

One of those successors was Ahmed Walobo who propagated Islam in various areas of Mali.

In addition, there was Sheikh Omar Bin Saeed Al Foti who propagated Islam in Senegal.

Hence, we see that Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulwahab's call was spread in many areas of Africa.

Thanks to callers who were influenced by that blessed call and took part in its spread in those areas.

May Allah be merciful to reformer Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulwahab and those callers who carried the Jihad of Islam and fought in the path of Allah.
