Saudi government spends a lot of money to provide the drinkable water that conforms to the international and Saudi standards concerning the chemical and microbial aspects.

Some previous studies results showed changes in the water quality when it with quality in the resource.

Much of the changes occurs as a result of unawareness of unawareness of citizens about cleaning their domestic water tanks, this cleaning should be regularly done at least once every six months.

Also it has been shown that most of the citizens utilize the water tanks for drinking and cooking purposes.

No doubt, that the pollution of the drinking water (chemically, microbially) is the cause of many diseases.

To specify the dimension of this problem Riyadh city has been chosen to know if the social and economical characteristics of the residents has an impact on cleaning their domestic tanks, and is there any differentiation in this respect among classes of the society or even among the different quarters residents in the city.

The main results of this study are: 1) Low awareness of Riyadh residents in different quarters about cleaning their domestic water tanks.

2) Weak impact of the residents social and economical characteristics in this respect, such as age, educational level, number of family members income, and housing type, while the housing age is the only variable that has significant statistical impact on the level of obtaining cleanness of water tanks.

This study showed that there is no considerable differentiation regarding the residents in the different quarters in Riyadh city in cleaning their domestic tanks.

This study recommends, raising residents awareness regarding the importance of cleaning their domestic tanks, and to protect it from pollution causes.

The concerned authorities, such as ministry of water and municipal water affairs assume the responsibility of this task.
