Internet become extremely important to people in general and researchers in particular, it Influenced of their life and work, but it has pose a risk of threatening the security of their information, so information security becomes one of the fields that many of institutes spend a lot of their budgets to increase it.

In this study, the researcher aimed to review the general concepts of information security, the level of awareness and knowledge of faculty members in universities (Almajmaa University as a case study) to achieve the requirements of the security of their information, and their ways to meet the penetration and sabotage.

The researcher found that the level of awareness among university faculty members in matters related to information security is good, and the level of familiarity with the basic concepts in the field of information security is acceptable, but they need training to raise the level of awareness, and the skills required to possess competence in this area.

Through the findings of the researcher, it is recommended to develop a policy for the security of information for the universities, and to benefit from the experiences of international universities in the field of raising the level of awareness of faculty members of information security.
